PianoScope presents: Liszt's Years of Pilgrimage

Juilliard's PianoScope program, which assembles a program revolving around a different theme each semester, will give its performance in the last piano forum of the year. This semester's theme is "Liszt's Years of Pilgrimage," and will include pieces from the first, second, and third books of Liszt's Années de pèlerinage. I will be playing the first piece in the second book, Sposalizio. In addition to music, there will be poetry readings and visual elements. A feast for the senses!

SPEAKmusic presents: American Menagerie in Chicago

SPEAKmusic, an ensemble of Juilliard and Columbia musicians, will be giving their first performance in Chicago, highlighting works by American and postmodern composers! I'll be playing the Gruenberg String Quartet on first violin, the Heifetz transcription of Gershwin's Three Preludes on piano, and the first movement of the Clarke viola sonata on piano.

Wagner, Before and After: Discussion and Performances

"Wagner: Before and After presents the composer in context, in anticipation of the Juilliard Orchestra concert at Carnegie Hall on November 24, conducted by Alan Gilbert and featuring Mr. Gilbert’s arrangement of music from the Ring cycle. Brian Zeger and Maestro Gilbert discuss Wagner, with musical examples of the composer’s antecedents and followers." I will be playing a four-hands arrangement of the third movement from Beethoven's 9th Symphony with my long-time friend Tristan Teo.
